What Is a Paleo Diet?
A paleo diet is a form of diet that includes similar foods as what would have been consumed during the Paleolithic period dating from around 2.5 million years to 10,000 years ago. In other words, it is planned to resemble what our ancestors ate in the past. While it is not possible to know precisely what humans consumed in various regions in the world, scientists suggest that a typical paleo diet should contain mostly whole foods and restrict processed products. By following this diet and living physically active, ancient people were at lower risks of diseases, such as heart disease, diabetes, or obesity. [1]
