What to Eat When You Have Diarrhea

What Happens When You Have Diarrhea?

Diarrhea is characterized by loose, liquid, and more frequent bowel movement. It is a common health issue that would affect people many times during the year. Most cases tend to be mild and improve after a few days. However, chronic digestive disorders, such as Crohn’s disease or irritable bowel syndrome, may cause diarrhea more frequently. In addition to watery and loose stools, other possible signs may include abdominal pain, bloating, cramps, vomiting, nausea, fever, urgent need for bowel movements, or a bubbling feeling in the intestines. A special diet for diarrhea is important to manage these symptoms. Some foods would worsen the condition, while other may help improve it. [1]
