Inositol supplements are generally well-tolerated by most healthy adults. Nevertheless, there would be possible mild side effects when you take more than 12 grams a day. These include fatigue, dizziness, headache, difficulty sleeping, gas, and nausea. A pregnant woman would take around 4 grams of vitamin B8 a day without side effects. However, more research is still needed to verify this claim. Currently, there is not enough evidence to prove the safety of this supplement on breastfeeding women. Nevertheless, breast milk is naturally rich in vitamin B8. Also, it is still unknown if vitamin B8 supplements can be safe to use in the long run.
