Recommended Dosages

In general, there are two main forms of vitamin B8 supplements, D-chiro-inositol and myo-inositol. There is no official recommended dosage and type. However, some studies suggest the following:

– For people with polycystic ovary syndrome: 200 mcg of folic acid and 2 grams of myo-inositol two times a day or 1.2 grams of D-chiro-inositol for 6 months.

– For people with mental issues: 12 to 18 grams of myo-inositol one time a day for 4 to 6 weeks.

– For people with metabolic syndrome: 2 grams of myo-inositol a day in 1 year.

– For people with type 2 diabetes: 400 mcg of folic acid and 1 gram of D-chiro-inositol one time a day for 6 months.

– For people with gestational diabetes: 400 mcg of folic acid and 2 grams of myo-inositol two times a day during pregnancy.[8]
