Grains
Whole grains are great sources of iron, fiber, protein, and other essential nutrients for overall health. Since they are generally soft and can be chewed easily, these foods can be great options for those who wear braces. Nevertheless, you should be careful when consuming some grain products. For instance, bagels and other hard-crusted bread can be hard to bite into. To make them softer, try to break them into smaller sizes or warm them before serving. Unground whole grains may be difficult to eat as well as they would get stuck in your teeth, wires, and braces. And lastly, avoid eating small grains or seeds for the same reason. [7]
