8 Multiple Sclerosis Treatments

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a form of traditional medicine in China. It works based on the idea that our body functioning will involve the flow of energy or qi through different pathways. Diseases come from disruption or imbalance in this status quo. In treating multiple sclerosis, acupuncture is involved in the stimulation of particular parts on the skin, often by inserting disposable, thin metallic needles into your body to change the energy’s flow. This provides relief for several symptoms of multiple sclerosis such as depression, bladder issues, numbness, spasticity, and pain. It often takes six to ten sessions to achieve the desired results. However, this is only a complementary treatment rather than a substitute for medical treatments in multiple sclerosis.[7]
