What Is Stiff Person Syndrome?

Moersch-Woltman syndrome, also known as stiff person syndrome is a rare type of autoimmune neurological disorder. It happens when then the immune system mistakenly identifies body tissues as harmful invaders and attack them. The condition mostly affects the central nervous system and brain. If left untreated, stiff person syndrome can reduce the quality of life. Studies have found out that people with this disorder often have other autoimmune conditions, such as thyroiditis or type 1 diabetes. Both females and males of all age grounds can be affected.
