What is Epilepsy Awareness Month?
Epilepsy Awareness Month is an annual event taking place in the United States every November. The U.S. formally recognized it in 2003, but the Epilepsy Foundation had previously this month for a long time ago. The main goal is to bring more attention and raise people’s awareness of the difficulties related to epilepsy treatment and diagnosis. Although the condition may be caused by different reasons, up to 50 percent of reported cases are idiopathic. It means the cause is unknown and varies from person to person. Epilepsy Awareness Month can help people educate and inform themselves about this disease and take measures to protect the community. [1]
