Whole Grains Bread

Whole grain bread is made up of grains that are still fully intact. Saying “whole” and using the word “intact” to qualify this type of bread means the bran, the germ and the endosperm of the grains used in producing this bread are left intact. This bread can be made out of whole wheat, whole barley, brown rice, whole grain oats, and rolled oats. All these grains are very rich in fiber, vitamins, and minerals. They also have low glycemic index scores. This means whole grain bread will also be low in glycemic index. A 100 percent whole-grain bread will have a glycemic index of 51 which is low on the glycemic index chart and automatically has a low impact on the blood sugar levels.[3]
