Even the ones that contain carbohydrate, like cashew and chestnuts, also have low glycemic index carbs because the carbohydrates found in them are primarily fibers. Nuts are very much beneficial to the body. They provide the body with lots of nutrients. Asides from eating nuts as snacks, you can also add them to your meals with carbs. This will help regulate and lower the rise in blood glucose after a meal. Most nuts have a glycemic index score between 0-20.[4]
