What Is the Carnivore Diet

What is the Carnivore Diet?

The carnivore diet is a form of a restrictive diet. It only includes animal-based foods, including fish, meat, dairy products, and eggs. All plant-based sources like seeds, nuts, grains, legumes, veggies, and fruits are excluded. Many proponents of the carnivore diet also suggest the restriction or elimination of foods low in lactose like hard cheese and butter.

The carnivore diet is based on the belief that ancient humans mainly consumed fish and meat. Also, proponents believe that following a high-carb diet can be the major cause of many chronic diseases these days. Unlike the paleo and keto diet, the carnivore diet contains no carbohydrates. [1]
