Herpes is a chronic infection triggered by the herpes simplex virus, also known as HSV. This microorganism would affect different parts of the body, such as the skin, mucosal surfaces, anal areas, or external genitalia. However, many people might not have typical symptoms even when they carry the virus. Some common signs include cold sores, vaginal discharge, painful urination, ulcers, or blisters. 5 Stages of Herpes
Stage 1
In the first stage of herpes, the viruses are still being incubated and cause different symptoms, depending on individuals. Some typical signs during this period include blisters, muscle pain or ache, sickness, nausea, painful urination, itching or burning sensation around the genital, or fever. The first outbreak tends to last a few days or weeks before subsiding. However, this does not mean that the condition has disappeared. Instead, recurrent outbreaks would happen at any time or when there is a proper trigger.
