When dry drowning occurs, the children tend to look ill and show abnormal signs. The doctor might notice crackles in their lung during a physical examination. To determine which areas are affected, a chest X-ray can be performed. It might take a few visits to the hospital to diagnose the condition because early symptoms could not be obvious enough in the early stages.
