Allergens
When your body reacts to things you are allergic to, you may experience a pink eye. This mostly occurs in people who have allergic conditions like hay fever and asthma. It is usually seasonal and more likely to happen when there is a change in the environment or a change in weather. Pink eye caused by allergens is rarely severe, but it may repeatedly occur whenever allergic reactions occur. If you know you have allergic reactions, you should ensure you always keep away from things that can trigger a reaction. The most prevalent causes of allergic pink eye are dust, dander, and pollens. Apart from the typical pink eye symptoms, a person with an allergic pink eye may also experience sneezing, itchy nose, and some form of swelling.[4]
