It can be caused by bacteria, viruses, or even by allergies; pink eye caused by allergies is usually not contagious. It is crucial to be able to recognize the symptom both in one’s self and in other, and once signs of pink eye are noticed, such a person should stay away from public places and seek treatment immediately to avoid spreading it to others. Some early signs of pink eye are discussed below.

Redness in Eyes

This is like the most basic symptom of pink eyes. When you notice that one of your eyes turns red or pink or both, it can be an early sign of pink eye. The way this usually happens is that the white part of the eyes will begin to redden and in some cases, it starts from one eye before spreading to the other. When you notice this sign, you should look out for other things that may point to the pink eye because other things can make your eyes turn red. If you are not sure of what any symptom or sign indicates, you should see your doctor for a proper diagnosis.[1]
