15 Foods that Cause Gout

Spinach

Another vegetable very high in purine is spinach. Spinach, whether eaten raw or cooked contains a high amount of purine which is a trigger for gout. Cut down on your daily consumption of spinach if you do not want to be a gout patient. Instead of always having spinach in your dish, why not use leaf or romaine lettuce instead. These two have very low purine content and still nutritious.
