The 10 Most Common Food Intolerances

Fructose

Fructose is a simple sugar in veggies, fruits, and sweeteners like corn syrup, agave, or honey. High consumption of this substance is linked to many health issues, such as heart disease, liver disease, and obesity. In addition, more and more people report fructose intolerance and malabsorption. In these individuals, fructose is not absorbed efficiently into the blood. Instead, it goes to the large intestine and then is fermented by bacteria in the gut. This leads to digestive issues like gas, diarrhea, reflux, bloating, vomiting, abdominal pain, or nausea.[3]
