Pupillary distance is the distance between the two eyes‘ pupils. This measurement is important for those who want to purchase a new pair of prescription sunglasses or eyeglasses. To ensure clarity and comfort, the option center of the lenses should be directly aligned in front of the pupil’s center. Pupillary distance is basically measured in millimeters or mm. On average, the pupillary distance in adults is around 63 mm. The exact measurement can vary, depending on the gender. The number for women and men are from 52 mm to 75 mm and from 53 mm to 77 mm, respectively. [1]
