Prevent Osteoporosis
Eating a lot of asparagus is associated with stronger bones and lower risks of osteoporosis. These effects can be directly attributed to the high concentration of vitamin K. A cup of boiled asparagus can provide more than 50 percent of the daily recommended intake. It is an essential component that would improve the absorption of calcium, thus increasing bone density and preventing bone fracture. In addition, vitamin K would reduce the amount of calcium that is excreted or ridden by the kidneys in urine. Asparagus also contains iron, which keeps joints and bones always elastic and strong.
