What is Chronic Inflammation?

Overview of Chronic Inflammation

Chronic inflammation occurs when inflammatory responses last for many years or even the whole lifetime. It usually starts when there is no disease or injury present. Scientists have not fully understood why chronic inflammation occurs, but it does not seem to have the same purpose like acute inflammation. Over time, this form of inflammation would lead to major changes to the cells, organs, and tissues in the body. There is a link between this condition and many series conditions, including fatty liver disease, osteoporosis, autoimmune disorders, Alzheimer’s disease, depression, cancer, kidney disease, high cholesterol, and high blood pressure.
