Neuroleptics
Neuroleptics are those pills that could help suppress and prevent tics from occurring. They are often used only when the tics progress and interfere with your functioning. The possible side effects of those medications can be hard to manage. Some common neuroleptics for tics in Tourette’s syndrome include tetrabenazine, clonazepam, clonidine, aripiprazole, pimozide, as well as risperidone. Keep in mind that you should only take those drugs when tics are severe. Some options can have more serious side effects than the tics. [15]
