Dull Pain
One of the main effects of shoulder impingement is achy and dull pain on the outside of your upper arm. When the condition progresses, the sensation can be felt at the back of the shoulder or deep in the shoulder socket. The intensity can increase or decrease over time, depending on your age and treatment. This effect is often triggered by the wearing down of the cartilage and tendons in the shoulder.
