Social Anxiety Disorder – Diagnosis & Treatments

SUDs Rating Scale

The SUDs or Subjective Units of Distress is a rating scale used for measuring the intensity of nervousness or distress in patients with a social anxiety disorder. Rated between 0 and 100, it is a subjective tool that many healthcare providers and therapists often use to determine the success and progress of a treatment plan. SUDs are often performed during the whole treatment period to assess various disturbance areas that need additional work. Keep in mind that this is not a precise diagnosis. Instead, the result just gives an overall idea of the current conditions. [4]
