Smoking
Lungs are the most commonly affected organ in people with sarcoidosis. Therefore, smoking can be a major risk factor. In general, tobacco products and cigarettes contain thousands of harmful substances that would irritate and inflame your lungs’ cells. Over time, smokers would suffer from permanent damages in the respiratory system. This would increase the overall risks of developing sarcoidosis. Therefore, it is better to stop smoking immediately to prevent this health issue. Keep in mind that second-hand smokers, such as children or older people would also have the same risks.
