Responsive neurostimulation is a treatment option for a grand mal seizure that does not require surgery to remove brain tissue. During this process, the doctor will use an implanted device to prevent seizures from occurring. The mechanism is quite similar to how pacemakers detect and treat abnormal heart rhythms. – The seizure comes from 1 or 2 brain areas
– You have focal or partial onset seizures
