Red Meat
Many red meat products are not suitable for people with rheumatoid arthritis. They are produced from pork, beef, and lamb with many harmful additives, hormones, artificial ingredients, and preservatives. Those substances are foreign to your body and would lead to systemic and adverse inflammatory activities, thus worsening your symptoms. Therefore, it is advisable to avoid some common types of red meat, such as pepperoni, bacon, deli meats, or sausage, which have been cooked and altered with hydrogenated oils or contain trans and saturated fats. Instead, go for lean cuts that are labeled grass-fed or organic. [6]
