Laser eye surgery is unsuitable for people with a thin or irregular cornea because the procedure needs to take away a small amount of corneal tissue for flap creation. Therefore, the ultrasound waves measure before laser eye surgery is necessary. Candidates must have an adequate corneal thickness to prevent vision issues and server complications like corneal ectasia.
