Hand Exercises for Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) Relief

Wrist Stretch & Table Bend

In addition to fingers, wrists can also be affected by arthritis with signs of stiffness and soreness. To ease pain, you may exercise these areas. Start with holding the left arm out with your palm down facing the table. Use the right hand to press down on the left hand until you feel a stretch in the arm and wrist. Stay in this position for several seconds before returning to the initial position. Repeat a few times before switching the side. [6]

The first step is to put the pinky-side edge of the right hand on the table. Keep the thumb pointed up and bend the other fingers inward until the hand creates an “L” shape. Stay in this position for a few seconds before straightening all fingers to move back to the initial position. Repeat the exercises 10 times and switch to the left hand. [7]
