Reduce the Use of Herbicides and Insecticides
As said above, many GM plants and seeds are made to have herbicide and insecticide tolerance. Therefore, the growth of these crops would lead to the decreased use of herbicide or insecticide sprays. This can bring two major benefits. Firstly, farmers can save a lot of cultivating expenses as chemicals used for agricultural purposes aren’t cheap. More importantly, fewer chemicals mean greater levels of safety for both the farmers who have to expose to these components daily and the consumers who eat the final outputs. [5]
