How to Take Faslodex and Take Faslodex with Other Medications
Faslodex is typically injected by your healthcare provider into the muscle in the buttocks. Each dose can be given in two injections, a syringe into the left buttock and the other into the right buttock. In general, this is a slow procedure that takes around one to two minutes for each injection. For the first 3 dosages, Faslodex is often given around 2 weeks apart, on day 1, day 15, and day 29 of the treatment. After this period, you would only need to get it one time per month. [6]
Faslodex can be given with other medications for treating breast cancer. These include ribociclib, palbociclib, goserelin, or abemaciclib. This may increase the effectiveness of treatment and increase the successful rate. Most healthcare providers usually prescribe additional drugs with Faslodex when cancer progresses to advanced stages or spreads to other parts of the body. The exact combination will depend on the form of breast cancer that you need to treat. [7]
