Common Teas for Menstrual Cramps

Ginger Tea

Ginger tea is a potent anti-inflammatory and analgesic (so to speak). You probably are aware of the numerous medicinal benefits of ginger, and this is one of them. Taking a cup of ginger tea doesn’t guarantee that your cramps will be eliminated entirely, but rather that its severity would be considerably diminished. Several studies have confirmed this to be true, many pointing to its pain relief effect. The action of ginger tea in women with dysmenorrhea has been likened to NSAIDs such as Ibuprofen, ginger tea proving even more potent. 4 cups of ginger is normal, you can prepare the tea by boiling in a small pot of water for few minutes. Then, turn down the heat and leave it to simmer for about an hour. Extract the ginger from the water, and there you go! Ginger tea bags are also available in some locales. [4]
