Processed foods refer to those that are not part of edible fungus, animals, or plants. Studies have shown that consuming too much commercially prepared chicken nuggets, carbonated soft drinks, or granola bars would increase the risk of many chronic diseases, especially heart issues and cancer. In general, they are high in calories and other harmful substances like trans fats or additives.
