Top 10 Foods High in Lysine

Nuts and Seeds

Compared to meat and other plant-based sources, nuts and seeds do not contain high levels of lysine. However, there are several categories that are rich in this essential amino acid. These include both peanuts and tree nuts, such as ground nuts, macadamias, pistachios, walnuts, and almonds. Keep in mind that the exact amount can vary greatly between various types of nuts. Pistachios provide the lowest ratio, while macadamias have the highest ration. Cashews and pumpkin seeds are also high in lysine. A small cup of pumpkin seeds provides up to 1,5 grams of lysine and 3,2 grams of protein. [3]
