Exercise Addiction Diagnosis
It is not always simple to diagnose exercise addiction. Most people with this condition do not notice any unusual signs with their behavior, thus not reporting it to the doctor. In fact, the American Psychiatric Association does not recognize it as a diagnosis. This means that no specific diagnostic criteria is available for diagnosing exercise addiction. Reduced social activity and increased fitness desires are the common indication for exercise addiction. You may be asked by the doctor to keep a journal of social activities and exercise routines to determine whether you are showing unusual exercise patterns. [7]
