Squamous Cell Carcinoma
Squamous cell carcinoma is a form of skin cancer. It causes scaly, flat, and thick nodules on skin areas that are typically exposed to the sun. A skin biopsy may help diagnose this condition and differentiate it from psoriasis. In general, the symptoms are quite similar, but squamous cell carcinoma would be less scaly and only limited to sun-damaged skin. Results from a biopsy may show the growth of keratinocytes in psoriasis and squamous cells in squamous cell carcinoma. [3]
