Lupus
Lupus is an autoimmune disease that may affect different parts of the body. When it occurs in the skin, a rash may develop on the nose and cheeks. A distinctive sign of lupus’s rash is the appearance of a butterfly’s wings that unfold across both cheeks. However, it does not always occur in all cases. Compared to psoriasis, the spots are a lot less scaly and do not have the lamellar look. A doctor may diagnose lupus by performing several blood tests. Another option may be a skin biopsy, which involves the use of both indirect and direct immunofluorescent tests. [4]
