Lewy Bodies
Lewy bodies are unusual growths of proteins that occur in the brain stem. They tend to show up in those with Parkinson’s disease. Those clumps consist of a protein that cannot be broken down by cells. Instead, they surround brain cells and interrupt how the brain works. Groups of Lewy bodies would lead to the degeneration of the brain over time. This results in issues with motor coordination in those with Parkinson’s disease. [4]
