Symptoms of Fifth Disease in Children
Pregnant women with the fifth disease would transmit the virus to their fetus. When this occurs, the babies might develop serious anemia after delivery. Nevertheless, this complication is not common. Children with anemia triggered by the fifth disease might need a blood transfusion. In several cases, the condition would even lead to miscarriage or stillbirth.
