Medical Conditions
Several medical conditions might make you more vulnerable to stomach cancer. These include:
– Pernicious anemia: a reduction in red blood cell count which happens when the body cannot absorb vitamin B12
– Gastroesophageal reflux disease or GERD
– Many bacterial infections caused by H. pylori or Helicobacter pylori. Typical symptoms include ulcers and inflammation.
– Atrophic gastritis: This condition inflames the lining of the stomach and increases the risk of developing cancerous cells
– Many stomach issues like gastric epithelial dysplasia and intestinal metaplasia
– Cystic fibrosis [7]
