1What Is Breast Cancer?

Breast cancer is a form of cancer that occurs when mutations take place in genetic elements that control the growth of breast cells. This causes these cells to thrive and multiply controllably, thus leading to tumors. The condition tends to affect the ducts or the lobules of the breast. Lobules are the parts that generate milk, while the ducts are the passageways that carry the milk to the nipple from these glands. In some cases, breast cancer may also happen in the fibrous connective or fatty tissues in the breasts. If left untreated, cancerous cells may spread to other parts and cause serious complications.
