Causes of Shoulder Blade Pain
There are many causes of shoulder blade pain. The most common reason can be an injury to a tendon or muscle in this area. Muscle strains would be caused by exercise, working with a computer for hours, poor posture, or lifting heavy items. Sometimes, even a wrong sleeping position would lead to this health issue. Injuries to other body parts, such as spine fractures or rotator cuff tears would also result in pain in the shoulder blades. Other common causes include scoliosis, degenerative disc disease, spinal stenosis, osteoarthritis, fibromyalgia, acid reflux, myofascial pain syndrome, shingles, gallstone, nerve compression, and some forms of cancer like mesothelioma, esophageal cancer, liver cancer, lymphomas, or lung cancer.
