Pseudo-Relapse and Paroxysmal Symptoms
Not all attack indicates that multiple sclerosis is progressing. During a pseudo-relapse, symptoms may become worse temporarily due to external factors, such as fever, exertion, or hot weather. Once the body temperature comes back to normal, these problems may disappear. Emotional or physical stress and infections are common triggers of pseudo-relapses as well. The same can be applied to paroxysmal symptoms of multiple sclerosis, which occur suddenly and then subside after several seconds or minutes. These problems may happen only one time or repeat over a few hours or days. [5]
