1Drug Injections

This is the most common treatment for people with multiple sclerosis. Currently, there are eight approved by the FDA which can be injected either under the skin into fatty tissues or into your muscle. Five of those medications include Avonex, Betaseron, Rebif, pleurisy, Octavia, and interferon therapies. The main purpose of this treatment is to change the course of the condition.

The length and number of injections can vary, depending on the type of medication. For example:
Rebif: 3 times each week
Plegridy: every 2 weeks
Extavia: once every 2 days
Betaseron: once every 2 days
Avonex: once each week
