What Cause Flares of Crohn’s Disease?

Currently, it is still not fully clear what causes flares of Crohn’s disease. However, common triggers include:

– Stress

– Alcohol consumption

– Smoking

– Antibiotics: These medications would change the form and amount of bacteria in the gut, thus leading to inflammation or diarrhea

– Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, such as ibuprofen, naproxen, or aspirin
