What Is Stage 0 Breast Cancer?
Breast cancer is divided into different stages, which may vary in terms of how aggressive and invasive cancerous cells are. Stage 0 in breast cancer is generally noninvasive. It means that harmful cells have not spread to other parts of the breast or other organs in the body. There are typically no signs or symptoms. Most doctors may diagnose this stage accidently during a physical exam, an imaging test or a biopsy. Although it is not harmless, medical treatment is still necessary for people with stage 0 breast cancer to prevent cancerous cells from spreading in the future. [1]
