What Is Stage 0 Breast Cancer?

Types of Stage 0 Breast Cancer

In general, stage 0 breast cancer can be divided into two main types:

– Lobular carcinoma in situ: This type affects the lobes or lobular carcinoma, the glands that release breast milk. Most cases happen in women from 40 to 50 years old, before they reach menopause. It would increase the risk of other forms of breast cancer. Therefore, regular screenings are necessary to detect breast cancer early.

– Ductal carcinoma in situ: This type occurs in the milk ducts, the canals that allow milk to flow from the lobes to the nipple. If left untreated, it would become more aggressive and spread to other parts of the breads and organs. [2]
