Stage 5
Stage 5 of kidney disease is also known as end-stage renal disease or ESRD. The kidney function or GFR, in this case, is no more than 15 ml/min. These organs almost lost all of their abilities to filter toxins and waste products. This eventually leads to a kidney failure that requires a transplant or dialysis to stay alive. Though the life expectancy in people with this stage can be short, staying positive and following your doctor’s advice are important in extending the lifespan. [7]
