Post-COVID Condition: What You Should Know?

What are Post-COVID Conditions?

Generally speaking, people can get better from COVID-19 infection in a couple of days to a few weeks. However, many patients around the world report that they continue to experience fatigue, difficulty breathing, coughing, and a wide range of health problems even though they are healed. These are referred to as post-COVID conditions.

Post-COVID conditions (PCC), also known as long COVID/long-haul COVID conditions, chronic COVID, and long-term effects of COVID-19, are lingering or relapsing symptoms after COVID-19 infection. According to the CDC, post-COVID conditions are mainly found in severe cases and can last for weeks, months, or years. However, it is also possible for mild patients to develop post-COVID conditions after recovery. In addition, unvaccinated individuals have increased odds of having long COVID conditions. [1]
