During The Procedure:
Some medication may be administered to help you relax while your doctor goes about inspecting your colon. He/she would examine your bowels with the aid of the colonoscope. Should there be signs of polyps or other abnormal growths, (your doctor might take a biopsy to make sure), they would be removed. It is okay to feel bloated and pass gas while the procedure is on. The entire procedure lasts approximately 30 minutes.
