What Is Irritable Bowel Syndrome?
Irritable bowel syndrome, often known as IBS, is a group of symptoms that happen together in the intestine. These symptoms can vary in terms of duration and severity from person to person. Keep in mind that IBS and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) are two separate conditions that are not related to each other. An IBS diagnosis may be made when symptoms occur at least 3 days a month over the last 3 months. If left untreated, IBS may lead to intestinal damage, but it is quite rare. Though the condition does not increase the risk of gastrointestinal cancer, it may leave a considerable effect on life. [1]
